Construction of the New Marina Building/Exhibition Centre: 2010

The big news in Meldrum Bay this year is the new Marina building. This exciting facility, just to the west of the existing docks, is our new home for the marina office, and includes a number of features that will be most welcome by our boaters and seasonal guests, including a second-floor lounge, showers, washrooms, and laundry machines.

Work progressed steadily and on schedule. Here is a look at the construction site at the end of the summer season, 2010.

A companion project was the removal of the leaning dock piers, which was completed in fall of 2010. We are thankful for the government funding that made this project possible. For a slideshow of the operation, go here.

Construction of the Breakwall: 2008

Our marina renewal and reconstruction project began in the summer of 2008 with the construction of a magnificent new breakwall, designed to protect our harbour from north east winds. The project was completed with the help of federal and provincial funding and a generous donation from Lafarge North America.
